1st regular annual Assembly of the Serbian Foundrymen Society

I regular annual Assembly of the Serbian Foundrymen Society was held in main auditorium of the Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy in Belgrade on May 22nd 2009 at 12:00. After complimentary and introductory notes of the President of the Society, acknowledgments for significant contribution to establishing and work at SFS were assigned as follows:

  1. Prof. Dr Ivanka Popovic and the Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy, University in Belgrade,
  2. General Manager Goran Dzafic and the Republic Agency for Small and Medium Enterprises and Entrepreneurship

Upon President’s submission of reports on work in previous period, financial status and further tasks and prospective work of the Society, vivid discussion developed with the following active participants: Z. Bogdanovic (FVK, Kraljevo), I. Popovic (TMF, Belgrade), M. Simic (foundry Ljig, Ljig), M. Stankovic (Metalurg, Prokuplje), V. Milojkovic (RTB-Bor), R. Pejovic (MMS, Belgrade), D. Savic (Morsad, Topola), B. Golubovic (Radijator, Zrenjanin), R. Bukvic (Fasil, Arilje), N. Majinski (PKS, Belgrade) and P. Hinic (Inoving, Belgrade). Upon fertile and in moments turbulent discussion the following conclusions and decisions are made:

  • To form Technical Committee within SFS to act in capacity of partner or at least consultant to the Republic Agency for Environment Protection, to make competent, professional contribution to assessments on danger waste in terms of foundry operations, etc,
  • To intervene with competent bodies to prevent further sales and export of secondary raw materials, which we consider endangerment of vital interests of the country,
  • To unite performance of foundry-related companies within one section – group within the Serbian Chamber of Commerce

The Assembly completed the session at 13:50, after which the participants attended cocktail with refreshment at the Faculty club

In cooperation of The University of Ljubljana- Faculty of Natural Science and Engineering, University of Belgrade-Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy and Serbian Foundrymen Society in the ceremonius room of TMF on January 15th, 2008. foundry seminar was upholded.The topics of the seminar related to the DTA analyses of alloys during their cooling and solidification and to casting proces simulation (developed by ESI-group).Read more.

07.August 2008. - SFS received resources

By the Decision of the Serbian Agency for the Development of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises and Entrepreneurship (MSPP) (www.sme.sr.gov.yu) No. 1540-28/2008 dated August 7th 7, 2008 the Serbian Foundrymen Society (SFS) received resources for supplying equipment, membership into the World Foundrymen Association (WFO) (the resources have already transferred and official confirmation of the membership is pending), as well as for publishing the first issue of the magazine of our Society. In accordance with Contract No. 1822/1 dated August 12th 2008, half of the resources were paid immediately upon contract signing, and the second half of resources shall be paid upon realization of aforesaid items.


Membership in WFO

We are happy to announce that as of September 21st 2008 SFS became an official member of the World Foundrymen Association (WFO). Beside this official announcing on the world scene, side by side with the most powerful world associations, this membership includes certain privileges in terms of the following options:

  • Professional consultations and assistance of WFO in solving practical problems
  • Personnel training
  • Publication of papers and all other announcements related to the metal casting industry
  • Participating in professional WFO committees for advancing metal casting industry
  • Participating in Technical Forum (every year) and the World Congress of Foundrymen (every two years). WFO members obtain 2 ½ places for exhibiting achievements, and all member delegates have financial reductions during stay and participation in these manifestation.
